Akbük - Once a small fishing village, now the ‘up and coming’ place for property investment. Akbük has 11km of coast running from Bodrum to Didim - quiet beaches, many undiscovered bays, crystal clear waters, unspoilt pine forests and olive groves - and restaurants serving delicious fresh fish. A short drive to the busy resort of Altinkum.
Altinkum - Altinkum literally means ‘golden sands’ - it has over 50km of coast, almost a quarter of Turkey’s Blue Flag beaches, and more than ten diving spots to tempt visitors. It is a lively beach resort with shops, restaurants and bars, and the whole place comes alive at night. It is also home to Didim’s new $50 million marina.
Mavişehir - A relatively quiet part of Didim that has retained its village roots and local Turkish traditions. Mavişehir is renowned for its sunsets, walking along the sea front, its weekly open market, and eating and drinking at the cafés by the sea. Local minibuses (dolmuş) run frequently to Altinkum.
Yeşilkent - A perfect place of sea, sun and tranquility yet only a short bus ride (4km) from Altinkum. Some of the best villas in Didim are here. There are two beautiful, quiet, beaches especially ideal for families and good for picnics, with breathtaking views of Akbük across the bay.
